Job Title: Children and Family Program Coordinator - Full time, Non-exempt.

Supervised by: Director of Camping and Children and Family Programs

Ideal Candidate: The Children and Family Program Coordinator will be a warm and outgoing individual who has experience with providing services to children and families in a non-profit environment. Main responsibilities will include working with children and families in an afterschool and summer camp setting, implementing programs and events. Judaic knowledge preferred.

Job Summary: The Children and Family Program Coordinator is responsible for the hands-on implementation and evaluation of the Afterschool Program at the JCC as well as administrative responsibilities and assist with enrichment classes, family events, holiday camps and summer camp. The Children and Family Program Coordinator will supervise part-time program staff and volunteers. This position requires independent judgment, initiative, relationship building skills with families and community partners and strong administrative skills. The Children and Family Program Coordinator must be creative in developing new activities, as well as in enhancing those currently in operation for the children and families of the community.

Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to:
• Supervise afterschool programs including working with the children, staffing, and communication with parents, transportation and day-to-day administrative and hands-on needs of the program.
• Supervise part-time staff (i.e. instructors, counselors), and assist the Children/Family Director in all hiring and retention.
• Direct, design and create the schedule, activities and new initiatives for the afterschool program.
• Oversee all transportation needs of after school programs.
• Assist in directing, designing and creating programs and new initiatives for children and families, this includes children’s enrichment classes, children/family events, afterschool programs and camp.
• Supervise Vacation and Holiday Camps.
• Serve as supervisory staff in summer camp, supervising staff, children and programs and work closely with the Camp Director.
• Maintain a system of administration and record keeping. Maintain and coordinate complete program files, including program records, evaluations and statistics.
• Work with marketing director and Children/Family Director to develop and produce all necessary program and public relations materials.
• Work with the Children/Family Director to outreach to schools around Miami Beach.
• Actively recruit children for programs with phone calls, mailings and emails.

Qualifications:
• B.A/B.S. Degree in a related field
• Supervisory, program and administrative skills
• Direct service experience with families and children
• Demonstrated skills in oral and written presentation
• Computer competency
• Understanding of and commitment to Jewish culture, tradition and community
